This is a juried show. Work submitted will be curated by a panel of three experienced jurors. There is no theme, and each artist is encouraged to submit one or two pieces.  These photographs can be printed on any material of the photographer’s choice. The is fee for jurying your submission. It is only $40.00, whether one photograph or two, and is not refundable.
There will be three prizes awarded. These will be selected by the jurors: $200 for first, $150 for second, $100 for third.
Photographs must be camera based, including pinhole cameras. No images generated by AI, or digital art will be accepted. Please do not submit images photographed under instruction or in a class-based environment (see FAQ for explanation).
Sizing: Please have the following dimensions for the online submission image sizes:
+ Portrait orientation: Maximum 1080 pixels on the vertical
+ Landscape orientation: Maximum 1920 pixels on the horizontal.
NOTE: For technical reasons the file must be no more than 2MB
NOTE: If you do not have software to shrink your images, you can use an online service like Image Resizer (https://imageresizer.com/). Make sure the service deletes your images soon after – less exposure to AI scraping.
Naming: Please name your files with this pattern:
+ Lastname.Firstname.title
+e.g. Cunningham.Imogen.CalaLeaves
If your work is accepted you will be asked to drop off the photograph(s) at the Old Town Hall, located at 460 Botsford St, Newmarket (entry off Timothy Street – map here) on a Sunday to be determined, 11am-1pm. Pick up will be on a Sunday at the end of the show, 11am-1pm at the same location. There is no room to store artwork, so these will be the only dates for intake and collection.
Photographs should be ready to hang: D-ring and wired to professional standard. If there is a frame it must be in good condition. Upon seeing the frame and framing at collection for the exhibition, your entry may be rejected if not up to professional hanging standards.
Work may be for sale, but does not have to be. Newmarket Fine Art Photography Exhibition takes no commission. The Gallery may take a small commission, in the range of 3% to 5%, or a flat amount of a couple of dollars to cover their costs in handling the sale. They never have done so.
By entering, you give us permission to use your image(s) in full or partial form for publicity purposes on this website and our social media. You retain full ownership of your images.
